Margaret Robson Kett was born in New Zealand and has lived on both coasts of Australia. She has spent her working life bringing families and children’s books together – as a parent, writer, critic and publisher. She now lives in Melbourne, the City of Literature, amongst cranes, which inspired her to write and publish her most recent book A Construction of Cranes.

Her previous collaborations include Baby Ways, the most popular book for babies in Western Australia.
